These waffles are made lighter with cocoa powder in the batter and topped with less sugar strawberry jam and a drizzle of rich dark chocolate for a decadent and fruity twist. These are sure to be a hit with chocolate fans!
Not so guilty decadent cocoa waffles
15g cocoa powder
60g melted dark chocolate (75% dark chocolate)
25g oat flour
1 large egg
3 tbsp maple syrup or raw clear honey
Pinch of salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla bean paste
2 tbsp Streamline Less Sugar Strawberry jam
In a bowl, add the cocoa powder, oat flour and salt; whisk to combine. Reserve to one side.
Mix together the melted chocolate, egg and maple syrup and beat until it creates a creamy mix.
Now add the wet chocolate mix to the flour mix and beat for 1 min for a smooth waffle batter.
Spray the waffle iron with a non-stick oil spray and heat it up. Pour the batter to the waffle iron and cook the waffle until done.
Enjoy with a good dollop of Streamline strawberry jam!
