Indulge in a glorious and almost guilt-free Afternoon Tea

With a slower pace of life during lockdown, is it any wonder that afternoon tea has made a comeback? A quintessentially British tradition, afternoon tea is a lovely fun-filled social activity that is great for catching up with our nearest and dearest. And let’s be honest, there is a lot of catching up to do. Summer is the perfect time to gather friends and family together to enjoy some treats but afternoon tea can sometimes be tricky for those of us trying to cut down.

At Streamline, we’ve created some healthier alternatives – both sweet and savoury, lower in sugar, lower in fat treats, that can easily be made at home.

There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to afternoon tea and adding a themed interpretation of the old English pastime can add to the fun. A traditional menu usually consists of sandwiches, a good selection of cakes and scones, but don’t be afraid to throw in pastries or biscuits.

So here’s a little inspiration for your ‘better for you’ afternoon tea menu, so nobody has to miss out (and the best bit… your guests will never even suspect they are tucking into a healthier version!).
